A quiet practice which moves into stillness, Yin Yoga involves variations of seated and supine poses typically held for 1 to 5 minutes, accessing deeper layers of fascia (connective tissue). The goal is to find the "edge" of sensation in the body, find stillness at that edge while absorbing sensation, and breathe through the mental chatter that inevitably occurs in stillness.
Class ends with a relaxing Śavāsana (final rest).
